Adam®
Method first appeared in 1990, as a result of Adam Zimny's
fascination and love for music. Now more than 10000 children
and adults all around the world use adam®
to learn and play music.
In Malmo and southern Sweden this year alone, there are up to 2000
kids learning to play instruments.
As everything else with forward thinkers the existence
of adam® has caused some educational disagreement between music
teachers but without much debate.
Adam®
is spreading the method all around the world. The need for an
alternative and effective method puts adam®
ahead of traditional music schools and fulfills the present learning
tendencies among young learners.
What is adam® ?
Adam®
stands for Adam's Digital Auditive
Method, a
method for beginners where a very easy numeric code shows how to
grip the instrument to get out the melodies you already have in
your mind.

Who is Adam?
Adam Zimny is teacher at a music school in
Malmö, Sweden. He teaches the woodwinds, electric guitar and rock ensembles.
You have just listened to Badineri performed on treble
recorder. As a tribute to J. S. Bach on the 250th anniversary
of his passing, Adam Zimny has recorded the whole
Suite in B-minor. As far as we know, this is the only
attempt to perform that work on a recorder in the original key.
"That was quite a challenge" he said afterwards.

It is a playful, easy, fun
and comfortable way to learn and play all kinds of musical
instruments. The joy of "I can play that" is a
reality for those who have tried. Do it by yourself in your own way, in a
group, with your family or classmates. Adam®
is for everyone, it's never too early or too late
to learn!.
The numbers show you which grip
to use. The
method is available for all instruments and it's very easy to
understand. In the textbooks there are numbers inside all
the noteheads to
enable the contact with notes for those who wish to do so.
You play the melodies you like, constantly developing your
skills. The best way to
improve your skills is to play, just play and nothing else.

Adam Zimny
A
musically versatile person, a multiinstrumentalist, an active music educationist and
a teacher. The author
of adam® textbooks
and didactic means.
Adam Zimny came to Sweden on New Year's Eve in 1970 as a guitarist and the player of
wind instruments
with an orchestra from Poland. Before that he studied at the University of
Wroclaw to become a
geologist.
Adam stayed in Sweden and graduated from the Music Academy of Malmo.
Adam also established the "Noten" music store in Malmo in 1982,
where according to his own words, it opened his eyes to
different perspectives in musical education.
Parents, children, teachers and most members of the community
had very different perspectives of musical education in
general. Adam saw the need for a change from the traditional
teaching methods so all could benefit from an easier way to
learn to play musical instruments.
Right now Adam works at a music school in Malmo as a
teacher of many instruments.
Adam is also preparing a program in education and further training for adam®
educationists, careers for the alternative learning method on
different
musical instruments.
